Celebrating 10 years, Thou Art Mum present their 2015 group exhibition ‘Up, Up & Away’, an exploration of above the horizon.
 My Soul is in the Sky|Helen PlataniaWINNER PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD Mixed Media on Paper - Original Sold A Midsummer Night’s Dream, William Shakespeare (1590) The Sky holds no limits as we look to the horizon to find hope and new beginnings. Inspired by nature & prompted by famous words, my aim with this piece was to depict the connection between nature and our innermost thoughts. |  Silent Flight | Helen Platania ArtMixed Media (Paperbark) - Original Sold By day the Tawny Owl finds shelter & protection in the hollow of a tree. By night it soars high above the horizon gliding on rounded wings, it’s silent flight aiding the nocturnal hunt. My use of paperbark in this piece is to symbolise the connection between the owls, and the trees they call home. |  Dreaming Big | Helen PlataniaMixed Media on Canvas There is a natural tension between the innocence of ‘big dreams’ and the insecurities of past experiences. Dreams can be many things…bold and colourful, a scattering of thoughts or a tidal wave of excitement. Whatever form they take, this painting serves as a reminder to look to the horizon and dream big. |
