Build your own Art Journal Workshop (3 hours)

As an avid art journaler myself, this workshop reflects an important part of my art practice. It's a way to document thoughts & ideas, work through challenges and most importantly a way to disconnect from the everyday in a creative way.  I can't reccomend it highly enough, especially for pre-teens! (actually if I had my way, everyone would be in on the action!)

I'm thrilled to be able to offer the children an insight into the benefits and joy of keeping an art journal and there is no better way to start than to actually make the journal yourself!

Using an array of mixed media papers, including our own hand painted pieces we will build our very own art journal to take home, for continued use long after the workshop is over.

From creating papers to include in the process to choosing the design, colour pallette and feel of their personalised journal, we will work through the collating of materials, construction, hand binding as well as custom designing our own hard bound cover. During the process we will also learn some journal techniques to take away from the class.

The journals will be approximately A5 in size (approximate because they are hand made after all....but also as this size is my personal favourite to work in)
